Think Rich To Get Rich

Think Rich To Get Rich!

We have read a large number of books on the subject of money and mindset and we’ll be sharing a number of book reviews on this blog over the next few months … The first is T Harv Eker’s Secrets Of A Millionaire Mind (Think Rich To Get Rich) which provides a system for changing your beliefs around money and wealth, by changing the way you view and manage your money.

But first, why is mindset important?

One of the things that stands out about successful property is their mindset. The problem for many people, however, is that mindset is something they don’t have, and/or they don’t see clear, positive examples of it in their circle of friends, family and colleagues.

And while there are a lot of valuable books and courses around investing in property (things like the different types of property to invest in, buying below market value etc.) these don’t always teach you about money mindset, which is just as important.

The message from T Harv Eker’s Secrets Of A Millionaire Mind is: without a better understanding and relationship with money, it will be harder for you to be as successful as possible.

The book is really only two parts:

  • Your Money Blueprint, and
  • The Wealth Files.

Your Money Blueprint

The Blueprint section covers several wealth principles aimed at challenging your view about money. It aims to do this by helping you create declarations which you repeatedly use to focus your mind on the right relationship with money. Now while this might all sound a bit woo-woo, stick with it. Everyone we have ever met who is successful has used declarations to help drive their mindset.

The Wealth Files

The second section of the book – The Wealth Files – covers the 17 different ways Eker has identified that rich people think differently from the rest of us.

This section can be hard to read. People tell themselves they think like rich people, but this clearly isn’t the case. It gives a rationale of how the rich think about things and then how the rest of us do. It then provides a series of clues to help you understand why you feel the way you do and – importantly – how to change it. The section then finishes with a number of actions called Millionaire Mind Actions.

The Wealth Files will challenge you to get to the root of your current relationship with money. They will help you change your views to make them more positive and in keeping with the same mindset of millionaires.

Not only does it give you lots of useful tips, but it also gives you practical steps to have a better relationship with money.

Wealth File 14, for example, gives you a great way to better save and manage your money on a monthly basis. Without giving too much away, it covers the creation of your FFA – Financial Freedom Account. It also talks about having an account to spend money like a rich person, so you create some level of balance.

It is peppered with stories and case studies of people who have used this book and turned their lives around.

In summary, this is a useful book which can help you think differently about wealth and money. It is a quick read – but you do need to make sure you answer all the questions the book asks honestly, in order to get the most from it.
